Your chance to enter the Bettys Jubilee Bake Off

Bettys is looking for a special baker who can create a cake fit for a Queen.

Our shortlist of five incredible bakers will then take their cake to Bettys Cookery School on June 1 for judging.

The lucky winner will take home a place on a course of their choice at Bettys Cookery School as well as bragging rights.

Entries close at 1pm on May 31, 2022.

What’s the brief?

We are looking for an 18cm flavoured sponge with filling and a decorative finish of your choice. It needs to be clearly connected to the brief: a cake fit for a Queen.

You must be able to finish the cake within four hours, taking into account baking, cooling and decorating. Good luck!

Competition terms and conditions:

  • Entries close at 1pm on May 31, 2022.
  • The theme is a cake fit for a Queen.
  • Bakers must create a cake with an 18cm flavoured sponge with filling and a decorative finish of your choice.
  • You must be able to finish the cake within four hours, taking into account baking, cooling and decorating.
  • The winner gets a place on a course of their choice at Bettys Cookery School in Harrogate which must be redeemed before the end of December 2022.
  • No purchase is necessary.
  • The prize is non-transferrable and there is no cash alternative to the prize.
  • We will shortlist five finalists on May 31. They must be able to take their cake to Bettys Cookery School on June 1.
  • This competition is open to all individuals over 18.
  • Anyone entering the competition must live within 20 miles of the Stray Ferret office.
  • The winner will be announced on the Stray Ferret website and social channels.
  • The winner may be asked to partake in PR and/or use of photography for social media purposes.
  • By entering this competition, you agree for your name to be published on the Stray Ferret website and social channels.
